Sticking to calorie count but starving!

I have been sticking to my calorie count myfitnesspal has given me and I was doing great at first. But for the past few days, I have been starving! How do you keep your hunger under control? I am eating 1200 calories a day, more if I exercise.

I often try to eat small meals all day. If I feel hungry I will grab a few almonds. They usually make that hungry feeling go away. I also keep small bags of veggies that I can grab and snack on when I feel hungry, like cucumber, celery, and peppers. Go for food that is high in protein so that even if you are exercising you will still feel good.

It's as much about what you eat as the calorie count. Protein will keep you fuller longer than carbs.
Open your diary to the public so people can see what you're eating & give you specific tips to help.

You might consider upping your calories, going so low can be counterproductive. If you are starving all the time you will not stick with the "diet". Also try eating less carbs and more protein and/or fat, they give you more satiety and you won't be so hungry all the time. If you are starving your body is telling you to feed it.
Do posts searches on topics such as road maps, calories, TDEE, and BMR for some interesting reads. There are lots of opinions and everyone is different. I think finding your magic calorie number and ratio of fats/carbs/proteins can be hard at times and then it might work for a while and then changes as your body changes. Good luck and don't go hungry.

Have you figured out your BMR? 1200 calories might not be enough.

Eat smaller meals and find food that is not very calorie dense. You can eat a lot more broccoli than peanut butter for the same amount of calories.

If you are truly hungry, then I think 1200 may be too low for you. I upped mine from 1200 t0 1500 because of hunger and lost on average a pound a week without being hungry.

you could add in moderate to heavy exercise to allow more food while staying in your net calorie goals

Lol! It's not the best diet food, but it is a great thing to serve to friends if you want to impress them.
