I am recently worrying that I might be developing an eating disorder. Here is why
- I do not go to events where food is involved unless I know how many calories are in that food ( I just missed my sister's birthday dinner today )
- I am obsessed with calories and all I can think about is how much calories I'll be eating and how to burn more calories.
- I exercise at 2 am just to make sure that it's the first thing I do that day.
- I chew and spit forbidden foods
- My biggest fear is gaining weight
- I sometimes give in and end up binging on foods late at night and then punish myself by staving for the next few days.
- Everytime I eat above my TDEE I get really angry and start to shout at people for no reason
- I Get nervous everytime someone asks me : '' are you gonna eat all that ?'' and I just stop eating.
What do I do ? Do I have an eating disorder ? please help

You need to make an appointment with a counselor.19

Yes, you do. I think you know that based on what you've said. I don't have any advice but I would look into your local resources for eating disorder therapy. Try to stop it before it gets so out of control that you can't.6

Yes you do and in reading all your other threads you have created in the past eludes to this as well.
Please seek the help of therapist as soon as possible.2 -
I think you already know you have an eating disorder. Unfortunately I don't know where to start, if there are specialists in this area to help you get a more healthy relationship with food and weight.1

Yes - get some professional help before it is too late.3

Clearly, yes. I speak from personal experience.1

Yes, you could certainly benefit from some counselling.1

Your thinking around food certainly sounds disordered, but only a professional can diagnose you properly. Do seek help.3

Those are definitely symptoms of an ED. I strongly suggest going to both a doctor and a counselor/therapist before it gets worse. As well as checking your general health, you'll want to find what's causing this psychologically because that's how you'll really beat it (I recovered from Bulimia earlier this year)2

Check through your health insurance provider or your primary care physician to see what support is available. Help is out there.1

Here is an informative article on orthorexia. I am sure you are not the only one on these boards who suffers from disordered eating and treatment is highly advisable.

Identifying what's wrong is important, you've taken a big step. Seek ED specific treatment in your area; and it might help to stop logging for a little while.1

You sound like you would benefit from some professional counseling.0

Not to be overly dramatic or anything, but a friend of mine thought and acted like this and eventually died as a result. I personally carried him (he was too weak to walk) to the car that took him to the hospital the first time. I think you already know that what you are doing is unhealthy. It looks as though everyone on this forum has responded with a suggestion that you seek help. Now that we've all voted on a recommended course of action, what will you decide to do?1

Thank you everyone for your help. I have to admit that I am a bit scared , especially since I am just an 18 year old and don't know where to begin.0

Go and speak to your doctor or if you are in college/university student services/support can point you in the right direction too.
You're young enough to nip this in the bud and recognising it's an issue is a huge thing. Good luck!3 -
Yes, it's scary. But it would be much more scary to recognize the signs of an ED and not do anything about it. Yes, you're young. That's actually in your favor because it's had less time to get hold of you. Talk to your doctor, your parents, student services, wherever you can get the support you need. All of us here wish you strength and good health!2
