So i stepped on the scale yesterday and it was 194.5. I'm 5'8 and 27 years old. I have never weighed this much before and it's very upsetting to see. I have a tendency to turn to food for comfort. I also drink more than i should most weekends. I know what my issues are i just don't know how to break the cycle of wanting to over eat to make myself feel better. I'm on break at work right now and all i can think about is how i want to go get taco bell after i leave because it's been a stressful night. I have a gym membership which has not been put to use for at least 2 months. I have used myfitnesspal before and got results but never stuck with it. My goal is to have one cheat meal a week but it always turns into days of bad eating habits.

A good trick is to eat to maintenance. Often cheat meals can negate all the work you put in throughout the week. Be diligent with logging your cheat meals.

Baby steps will get you to your goal weight. Don't be too hard on yourself and don't cut everything out cold turkey or you will end up falling off the wagon again. That's what has happened to me over and over again. I am 35 and weigh more than I did when I was 9 months pregnant. You just need to get past the first few weeks which are the hardest then you'll be on the road to fitness. We can help get you there, a few months from now you will thank yourself :)

It's a tough journey for sure, especially when we fall into the crutch of using food for stress relief. The main key getting started is to start with simple steps that get you closer to your goal. If you make a few changes, and then a few more changes, and so on, they will compound and you'll end up with some big changes over time.

If you need some help, hit me up. I'm always happy to chat and see if I can be of help!

You can incorporate foods you like into you calorie allowance if you have a sensible rate of loss set.

It can help to stop viewing foods as good or bad, food is fuel and that is the same for a Taco Bell or a homemade chicken salad, you just have to work out how to fit the things you like in, in moderation. You can do this in a number of ways - you can bank calories from other days, you can eat lighter meals the rest of the day, you can include some additional exercise.

For example with Taco Bell - The Tacos are around 210 calories, Chip & Guacamole are around 230 calories. That's 440 calories, if you have it with water or a diet soda that is easy to fit into a normal day. A burrito is more calorie laden but you can still fit one of those in if you had it without a side or help to offset it by doing a 30 minute walk some time in the day. I managed to fit a Domino's Personal Pizza meal (Around 1300 calories) into my week, almost every week for about 2-3 months when I first started out.

The more you restrict yourself, the more likely you are to end up bingeing in the way you describe.
