Is it okay to do a 30-minute cardio-and-weights interval workout on the off days?

Or would any sort of strength work impede muscle recovery?

To clarify, this isn't anywhere close to HIIT-level intensity. I'd likely be using 8lb and 10lb dumbbells for now, just as I do with the full-body workout.
