Sorry, what's the difference between a d-bag and an a-hole? Figuratively speaking.
My two cents:
An a-hole is a very self centered person who won't actively seek out putting someone down, but won't go out of their way to make you feel better. A d-bag is an egotistical *kitten* that only cares about their image and how they are perceived by strangers. That will also actively seek out putting someone down and usually doesn't stop till they get bored with it or knocked out.
