    If you want to lose weight, it's not necessary. Unless there's a medical reason, you don't need to cut a whole food group from your diet. I did try it recently ( I put on 4 stone during cancer treatment and was inpatient to get rid of it)... it made me very tired but unable to sleep and my breath smelled. ... really bad. That's all I got

    Check out the low carb groups here .....not nearly as much info on the general forums.

    But I agree with @LearningtoFly13 - you need a calorie deficit to lose weight. All keto does is eliminate most of a macro (carbs)....which in turn, often means calorie reduction.

    Losing weight is just the first step. Will keto give you new tools to manage weight loss? In other words, will keto be a lifestyle change?

    High fat, protein at .6-1g per body weight, carbs at 50g or less, but most hover at about 20g carbs.
