Need Motivation

I've been trying to lose weight for some time now, but my weight fluctuates. Probably because I hate cooking/preparing food and honestly I've been living off of hot cheetos, dr. Pepper, and water..
I exercise regularly but that's just enough to keep me around the same weight. So I need someone to help motivate me and whatnot.

Instead of looking to others to help motivate you, how about setting a few commitments to yourself, in respect to exercise, diet, and resolve to better your life by embracing a healthier you? Write those commitments down.. and then do some research on will-power and self-control???5

No one can motivate you except you.

You could think about fueling your workouts with better food. You could consider substituting diet Dr. Pepper for the full sugar version. You could buy a sandwich, eat half and save the rest for another meal. You could buy a salad and skip the hot Cheetos just one day this week. But sorry, you're going to have to motivate yourself and develop some discipline.1

Don't look for people to motivate you, and don't try, just do. Losing weight is very simple for everybody - eat less, move more. The real challenge is to find ways to make losing weight easy for you.
Weight fluctuates for all kinds of reasons, and it's nothing you can or should do about it. A steady downwards trend is what you want, and it will not be in the shape of a straight line.
Maybe you hate cooking because you're not used to it and feel out of control with your eating, maybe you have an idea of "healthy eating" as something boring and restrictive? Your current diet is boring and restrictive. A healthy diet is varied and balanced, and can make you want to cook more.
Appropriate food intake is way more important for weight loss than exercise. Focus on correct food logging.1 -
All very good comments and true! Nobody can do it but you. MFP is just another social site in disguise....0

I should add though that the fitness and meal tracker here are he best I've found so far. If you can be consistent with logging your progress that alone will push you to do better....0

OP you started the thread. Any replies to the comments? I'll also add to the others. Are you doing your own work counting calories and logging. If not, you'll probably discover the "creep" of the 5-10# weight gain per year. That really sucks. If you aren't doing the work, time to get started as there's no time like the present.
