NSV - Celebrating Scale Victories without Calories

Hello my friends,
I want to share my NSV with you all today in hopes it inspires others and mostly encouraging those that are McD's addicted (as I was). )(long story short - Qtr Cheese Combo doesn't beat out the calories saved with the Wendy's Half Taco Salad with NO CHIPS and NO SOUR CREAM / PAY ATTN: Canadian 14% sour cream containers are "calorie expensive!" Throw them and the chips out - you seemingly can't give them back at the drive through window - I have tried and it really does not work...next time I ended up with no chili! Then no fork and straw - too much confusion!!)
As a almost 50 yr old woman working to lose 60ish lbs, I found myself struggling for the first ten lbs - WHAT?! That part should be easy I thought but I trusted CICO and indeed...after starting Jul 11 at 210 I weighed myself yesterday finally at 199 and today it was less than that by 1.5lbs but I won't even record it because I just can't believe it - YET.
(note: I went up and down for 8 weeks as I figured the calories out for me - I like my breakfast and I love my carbs plus wine at night...finally - ladies who are in my age group - what pulled me through the barrier was at least 30 mins of walking every day - no fail no excuses - I take my running shoes in my car to work and pass by a walking trail head on my way home - I walk in my dress/skirt/dress pants/whatever...just put on my shoes and go for 30 mins...THIS HAS MADE THE DIFFERENCE FOR ME - TRY IT)
I fought through two months of seemingly no real results but I trusted and all of a sudden..WOW. So: I tell myself I can celebrate this victory with whatever meal I want...but my discipline is too great and Thu I cannot make my car drive to McDs for the Qtr Cheese Combo so end up at Wendy's for the small diet Coke and Half Taco Salad (no sour cream and especially NO CHIPS - those chip bag / buggers are 220 cals!!). Put on the 35 cals of salsa and I am still just at 220 cals for that meal. Hmmm. Not cheating yet...![:) :)](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/smile.png)
So here comes Friday FRIDAY...HAPPY HAPPY FRIDAY!! and I am down again on the scale (and with only 24 hrs up I shouldn't be down so I don't record it but I know it in my head). Woo hoo - so today is the qtr meal combo...salty fries...greasy burger...fake cheese that melts over it all...I can not wait from the moment I weighed myself at 7:34AM to noonish ...BUT THEN...just as I turn on my car turn signal to go to McDs and fall into the Golden Arches,... something takes over...YES...two months of discipline in eating healthy lunches, turning right instead of left...and so...CANNOT GO TO McDs...turn the "healthy way" eat the half taco salad no chips no sour cream. And I was perfectly satisfied. I'm on track and on goal and in my calories for lunch. Huh...It isn't motivation that gets us through. It is repeated habits and discipline. Now you know/NO!
Long story short: Nope. Again: 2 months of discipline will not allow me to turn left instead of right. I get the diet coke and half taco salad at Wendys (no sour cream and no chips - 220cals).
