So I decided to start a challenge of my own for the first time. I was inspired by a coworker who was telling me about something called "droptober". you pay money to become part of a community challenge to drop 1000 calories every day in the month of October. You get other stuff for paying to join but I'm broke so I will not be signing up any time soon. Instead I decided to start my own challenge. You can do it any time of year and for 21 days. Through a combination of exercise and decreased calorie consumption I will get rid of 1000 calories a day. ***I am doing this based on how many calories I would need to maintain my current weight, which for me is about 2300.*** If you feel you only want to drop 500 a day because of your size and health concerns, then please do by dropping 500. Anything is better than nothing.

An example of dropping 1000 calories for me would be to eat 2000 calories and burn 700 calories doing a workout. 700+300=1000.

*** When doing this challenge, start by taking your weight and body measurements. Use your starting weight to calculate how many calories a day you need to maintain it. Do not weigh again until after you finish the 21 day challenge! Use the starting weight the whole time. Once you complete the challenge you can weigh and measure again. I plan on following this routine strictly Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday I will drop as many as I can without exercise because let's face it. I'm not working out 7 days a week. I will come in at under 2300 though. Just because it's a slack day doesn't mean it's a stuff your face day.

By the end of the 21 days, the goal is to have dropped 21,000 calories. If you want to continue the challenge until you reach the 21k mark then go ahead. I will do my best to reach 21k in 21 days.

Good luck!
