Help with gym routine?

Hi all,
I'm 6'2" or 188 cm and 125kg and I don't know how many lbs that is sorry! I think 270 ish I think. I cycle to and from work daily which is around an hour in total and I don't think my legs could take much more. I was actually thinking of taking Wednesdays off to give them a break. I have access to a gym with lots of machines but no free weights. I really have no idea what I'm doing, I'd like to build some upper body muscle but have no specific goals outside of getting a bit stronger and building some muscle mass but I'm not sure how often to do this, what exercises to do and what reps/sets. I would appreciate any advice.
