So, I am going abroad for 5 days for a holiday staying in a lovely resort. I have been really looking forward to all the amazing food, drink and sun. My first thought is to have a break from my diet for these 5 days. I will keep as active as I can i.e. walk on the beach, swim etc but enjoy food and drinks.
I still have weight to lose but I have come a long way and deserve a break.

I am curious to know what do you lovely people do when go on holiday?

Indulge? Still strack calories? Bury MFP for a while? Or stay on diet ;)

No dessert for breakfast. But yes, I will indulge a little more - enjoy the delicious food. Combine that with being active when I can and it doesnt have to be a total diet disaster.

If you decide to forget counting calories and eat with reckless abandon for 5 days, well, it's only 5 days. Yes, it might take two weeks to undo 5 days but it's your life. I say enjoy it! If doing that will make you feel guilty, don't. It's totally up to you.

I enjoy delicious food while at the same time making conscious choices. In a place where there is fresh-caught fish, for example, I will eat a lot of it, usually grilled, and enjoy every morsel. Also, I indulge in fresh fruit and beautiful salads prepared to look and taste delicious, with dressing on the side. Part of my usual indulgence is dessert and a drink or two every evening. On holiday I generally eat breakfast/brunch and dinner and don't snack much at all, when I get home, I have only gained a couple pounds and some of that is water weight from higher sodium than I have when I'm cooking for myself.

    Enjoy your holiday!

When I went on vacation we were gone 10 days. Our resort had a gym so hubby and I still went and worked out 4x a week. We had a full kitchen so we always made 1 meal a day and then enjoyed lunch or dinner out. I didn't track a single meal and we did a lot of walking and swimming while gone and visited the beach. Life is meant to be lived so enjoy your holiday and everything the area has to offer!

I'm getting married in just over 2 weeks and then honey mooning. Im planning on enjoying my food but not overindulging. I have thought about eating at maintenance for that week, it'll give me a lot more calories to enjoy and I don't have to feel bad at all

I plan on eating (and more importantly drinking) to my hearts content when I go on vacation. I like to stay active on vacation so it really shouldn't be that bad, calorie wise. It's a vacation, I am going to enjoy myself.

I plan on eating what I want on every vacation, no matter what stage I am of my weight loss. I also ALWAYS get back on it the day after I return. In the past, I've been know to extend my vacations, but I have learned I can't do that.

Actually, I started this round of cutting BECAUSE of a planned Carribean All Inclusive vacation. I needed to lose 10-12lbs and I did. NOW, I just need to keep it off.

I'm always more active when on vacation than I am during my daily life. I allow myself to eat what I like but I don't stuff myself to the point of being sick. There's always that initial "I'm going to eat dessert for every meal!" thought and then after two days I think hoo boy, I just want a salad. So it all equals out.

Yay, have fun! I will be going to an all-inclusive for my destination wedding in May, so I am very excited for the food and drink as well.

I plan to thoroughly enjoy myself and eat and drink whatever I want - as long as I don't eat to the point of feeling ill. I want to feel satisfied, not bloated and sick. So that's my main goal - simply putting down the fork before I go too far.

I don't mind putting my calorie restriction on hold for a week to enjoy myself and some delicious food!
