Doctors Orders!

I just came out of surgery last Tuesday and the doctor has ordered to working out ( since I specifically asked him if I could) and now lifting over 5 pounds :sad: :sad: :sad:
Ever since I've been out I have been very sad about that, there goes my weight loss. I've lost all focus and have been eating bad once again. Please I could use some encouragement. What do I do now??

I just had abdominal surgery two weeks ago. I haven't been able to work out yet because of the incisions and pain, but I am slowly getting to the point where I WANT to work out. My plan is to walk walk walk until my body can handle something more. I can tell I have been losing muscle, but I know if I push too hard too early that it will set back my recovery (and ability to work out) even longer. You have to give your body time to heal. And I'm a total hypocrite because I don't want to wait for healing. LOL I'm interested to hear of any modified workouts you come up with.0

Focus on your dietary goals, and getting the nutrients you need. Depending on how the surgery limits you, readjust for your activity level change if necessary. If a deficit is a struggle right now, switch to maintenance until you can resume more normal activity. Maintaining is a victory when you would otherwise be losing ground. After surgery, you are officially injured. You have a wound in your flesh and tissues. You MUST let yourself heal. You'll be back on track soon enough.0

be mindful of your food intake not just calories but make sure you are getting high quality nutrients so your body gets what it needs to heal properly. and make sure everyone coming to your house washes their hands, infections will slow healing, even getting a cold slows things down.0
