Hi there! Your post caught my eye! I am in the same boat- jumping back in after waaaaay too long of neglecting my food and alcohol intake! Tracking is the best method ( I am a WW queen) and that is the one tool that helped me- journaling! It really makes me accountable. This is my first time using MFP and I am loving it! I want to lose 30 lbs. I did not set a long term goal, but have started with small goals. I hope in my first month I can take off 10-12 lbs. Once that is off, I will re-evaluate my calorie intake to slow the weight loss down so I am going slow and steady. I was way out of control and I have 30 lbs to show for it. I was feeling quite miserable!! I am only here 2 days and I can already feel some positive changes being made! Good luck on your journey. We can do this!

30-35 pounds in 12 weeks is not really doable in a healthy way....
