Help Understanding FitBit adjusted calories

I am a new fitbit user and yesterday I learned how to sync MFP and Fitbit together. But now I am wondering how I should be reading my Fitbit adjustment of calories burned.

My BMR is 1680
I burn an average of 400 with exercise 6 days a week.
But my calorie adjustment is saying I am burning around 3000 for a full day - which would mean I have around 900 calories unaccounted for. I understand that I can burn more calories just from doing daily activities but my issue is that now I don’t know what amount of calories I should be eating. If I am burning more calories than I though should I be eating more?

If your Fitbit is new, sometimes it takes a bit to learn your patterns and become fully reliable.

3,000 is pretty high. Do you have a very active job?

Fitbit takes couple of weeks to adjust. At the beginning it always shows very high burns. Just ignore it for several days.

(Mine keeps overestimating by 300 after 1 year but most people find it accurate)

Not very active but I’m on my feet a lot through the day. Nothing too crazy just walking around.

Ok thank you. So should I just stick with the calorie allowance I have been doing?

Yeah, I would just let it calibrate for a couple of weeks before you begin adjusting your calorie intake.

Also things to consider: are you in a deficit now? Knowing how much you're losing per week will give you a good indication of how close your current calorie goal is to what you're actually burning (same if you're maintaining).
