Do you have pre-diabetes? Simple online test to see if you do...

Options
I heard a PSA on the radio - and went to their website. The test took less than a minute and seemed worth reposting here.

BTW - My results based on my current stats were: 4 out of 10 - NOT AT RISK.

I did the test a 2nd time and put in my old numbers, before I lost 75 pounds and was very inactive and got a 6 out of 10 or - AT RISK and likely to have pre-diabetes.

    1/10, what do I win?

    Cake of course!
    ;)

I got 3/10. Because I'm male and old perhaps?

I'm wondering, I'm still overweight, when I get to healthy BMI do I start reversing into negative numbers. What's the opposite of pre-diabetes? Superhero abilities to process carbs?

I get regular checkups so I already knew I didn't have it but took the test anyway. 4/10

Only risk factors listed - age and family history - are beyond my control.

1/10. The age thing is major, but I guess I'm not there yet, yay.

Ooh, such a young little kitty. h.

(@GottaBurnEmAll have you just had a birthday? I always thought I had 10 on you but it is only 9. :D - 60+must be an extra point.

Cool, so are we debating whether this is a valid test, or what? I mean, being that it's in the Debate forum and all.

It didn't work for me anyway - the height doesn't go high enough.

I got 1 also when I selected no family history, 2 if I did (mother is I think considered pre-diabetic, totally weight-related), but I'm older than you. Shall try again lying about my age to see if I get a zero.

Yep, you get a 1 once you hit 40.

I was 4/10 low risk for prediabetes. Joke is on them, I tested positive for prediabetes at my physical like a month ago. On the low end though, 5.9 A1C

I came in at 3 based solely on my age (> 60). It was nice to be able to say "yes" to the are you active question - couldn't have done that a year ago. I think this is the same test that comes up in those blood pressure booths in the pharmacy - you can take a bunch of tests for risk factors for various diseases (of course I did, I have a morbid interest in risk factors I have no control over - just a little more fodder for my anxiety disorder :) )

Since we're in the debate forum:
Stupid concept. You can be prediabetic with no risk factors. You can have lots of risk factors and not be prediabetic. See your doctor and get bloodwork done.

Agree but maybe it might encourage some people (that get higher scores) to visit the Doctor for bloodwork?

The being male risk factor was because apparently we are less likely to visit the Doctor.

My morbidly obese, totally inactive, older sister would have scored high on many risk factors but wasn't diabetic or prediabetic.
Not aware of anyone in my family tree that had diabetes. Would hope the survey actually weights the most significant risk factors rather than a simplistic 1 or zero for each response.
