Friend Needs Help

My friend use to be very healthy up and til around 4 years ago. As time went on they stopped caring how they looked a in regards to their weight and no longer worked to actually keep their weight in check. Now at around 60lbs + overweight and having joint problems especially with their knees, wrists, and ankles they are wanting to get healthy again. What's the best way to help start them out? They injured their ankle a while back so they're not really able to do too much yet. He's around 6' 0" and around 260lbs I believe.

If HE is ready HE should setup an account here, enter his stats and eat within the calorie range he is given to lose 1lb per week. Weigh all food on a food scale and incorporate exercise that he is medically cleared for if he wants to (doesn't have to exercise for weight loss, but can improve overall health).0
