Keeping moving

So this week I've struggled to get much exercise. I did a 3 mile run on Tuesday but not managed much more than that at all this week (including not many steps during the day time all week)

Any tips on how to keep moving when it's dark and miserable outside. I didn't lose any weight this week and I'm blaming the lack of movement as my diet has been okay.

Thanks in advance x

Get a treadmill or other piece of exercise equipment. Do exercise DVDs or YouTube videos. Join a gym. Play active video games. Do calisthenics / bodyweight exercises.

Make a schedule...stick to schedule as much as possible...be flexible. I've had a crazy week at work this week and have been a bit off schedule...it happens.

I typically ride on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, and sometimes a short ride to the gym Sunday to lift. I usually lift Tuesday evenings. Pretty much it's on my schedule just like anything else, but sometimes life happens to and I have to prioritize.

Not sure where you're at, but it's not dark here until after 7:30 PM...I've just switched to evening rides for the fall...pretty much get home from work and gear up and hit the road. Once the time changes I will be spending more time on my indoor bike trainer during the week and road riding on the weekends.

I also take full advantage of my weekends to be more active.

Here in the Pacific Northwest, you just need to get yourself a raincoat, put on a baseball cap, get outside and walk. When I lived in Alaska for 20 years, I learned with the shorter dark days that if I didn't change my habits, I'd spend all my time inside. So, I learned to dress for the weather (including getting some warm running pants, Sporthill has a heavier weight that also acts as a windbreaker) and take a walk or jog on nearby trails. I've learned to have the proper breathable light raincoat for a comfortable run in bad weather (I use the Houdini jacket from Patagonia lately). It used to be that when it was dark and miserable outside, my mood was, too. Getting off the couch despite the weather is doable!

Well, it isnt always going to be sunshine and good weather. Get used to it and get some gear. You'll get used to it and might even come to like it.
