Protein powder

Sometimes at night I want something salty (unhealthy, I know), and hot temperature wise to sip while relaxing with the hubby. I tried adding whey protein powder to chicken broth, or soup I've blended in the bullet. Love the flavor and comfort. Problem I'm having is that the protein powder curdles on me and turns gross. Is there a secret to preventing this?

Maybe it's the brand? I add mine to oatmeal and have no issues, but that's a lot less liquid than a soup. (though I do mix it in with the oats before I add hot water, that may help) You could also try dissolving it first in some room temp water then add that to your soup? If you're just dumping the scoop in, try sprinkling and stirring in tiny amounts at a time too.

Thank you for the response. I'll try dissolving it in room temperature liquid first and see if that helps.

It's not curdling, it's clumping- It's what happens when it gets heated.

Whey protein isn't great mixing in your scenario... I have a hydrolysed collagen I use to mix in with coffee/drinks as it dissolves and doesn't clump.
