Hi I’m going on an Omad Keto vegetarian diet and I’m hoping to lose 20 lbs and hit a target weight of 130 lbs in a few weeks. I’m 5’8 and an average weight for my height is 126-154 lbs according to google, but since I’m too close to exceeding that 50’s cap I’ve decided on this new routine. Hope to find some common ground with some of you! Xoxo

What's that one meal going to look like?

Lmao that’s the challenging part. There’s like zero information on anyone else doing this already the meals are always super low cal. I have a few yummy options that include eggs, organic butter, hemp seeds, broccoli or Brussels sprouts, avocado and maybe macadamia nuts or something. Lol if you have any suggestions please lmk this is my first time experimenting with this.

Min weight 126 and your aiming at 130 with little knowledge of keto, may I suggest ketogains.com and their 5x5 program

Can I ask what has attracted you to this plan?

Yeah, for starters I had already been a dairy free vegetarian for the past 4 years so that was already part of my daily routine mostly for overall health and ethical reasons, but also for weight loss, yet with those guidelines alone I had managed to keep my health alright, but my weight would always fluctuate from 140-150 lbs.
    = Vegetarian =

Recently I found Dr. Jason Fung who talks about intermittent fasting and prolonged fasting as an excellent way (the best way) to lose weight and heal your gut. Most of the week he eats once a day, but sometimes he admits he will eat at lunch if he has a meeting scheduled, but he is aiming for weight maintenance not weight loss. So most of the time he is fasting for 23 hours in between meals and this is his lifestyle.
    = Omad =

So I tried the 16-8 intermittent fasting diet for a little while, but didn’t find any huge difference in my weight still even though I was reducing the amount of times my insulin spiked to an (8 - 4) hour window rather than snacking often or eating every 2 hours like I was doing before which practically made it impossible for my body not to produce too much insulin too many times and push it into my fat cells causing me to gain weight. That’s when I decided to Incorporate the keto part and try tracking my macros more efficiently removing bread, fruit, pasta, rice, beans, and almonds and walnuts.
    = keto =

The downside is that most people will probably judge me and say this is unhealthy, because packing 13,000 calories (as suggested on my ketogenic online calculator ) into one vegetarian meal is hard.
Yet, part of me feels okay with it, since Dr. Fung says to forget calorie in vs calories out and focus more on the time you spend fasting as a way to manage your health and weight better. So that’s my reasoning and I’m doing my best on getting as much fats and greens and proteins as I can think of. Xoxo
