Running - dead foot?

Looking for some advice.....
Last night whilst running on the treadmill, my right foot just went completely numb. It felt tingly, almost like pins and needles and felt heavy as though I was wearing a lead shoe!
I slowed down to a slow walk and the feeling subsided a little but as soon as I started running again the feeling returned.
Any ideas?

It happen to me once basically I did not wear the right shoe. I bought a good sketcher sport shoe and used the 5K application on IPhone . 5K train you slowly to run.
just relax for 3 days and soak your leg in warm water and salt you well feel better1 -
laces too tight? new shoes too small?3

I haven't changed the tightness of laces (I just slip them on) and I haven't changed my shoes.0

Try other shoes (these might have lost their support or changed shape). If you experience the same thing in other shoes you may have injured your food and pulled something causing pinched nerve. In that case see a doctor just to be safe. If you don't experience this in different shoes, time to throw these ones out.

I have a bad knee which goes out and causes misalignment of my leg bones, and something similar happens to me once in a while, due to nerve problems. It does sound like a pinched nerve. You should probably check with a doctor, since you don't want to damage the nerves further. Most likely it's nothing big and the right stretching, etc. will help.1

How do you know if your arches collapse?
Outsole tends to show more wear on the inside edge if your arches collapse, so look at the sole, although it's not always conclusive. To be sure, have someone watch you run from behind to see if your feet roll inward excessively, alternatively buy arch support and see if it solves the problem. Try changing shoes first, though. If the problem is shoes no need to overcomplicate it.1 -
This has happened to me a few times and has meant it's time for new shoes. I don't get it now I rotate 4 pairs1

I've been treadmill running for a year or so and never has this problem before.
I can fairly confidently run 5K four/five times a week but last night a mile was a struggle and had to slow to a walk0 -

Weird...start with the shoes and go from there. One thought - try some slow barefoot running. See if you still get the numbness (that is, is it something in your foot, or is it something in your shoe?)1 -
so I ran tonight and managed about 1.5 miles before the feeling came back.
I noticed that not only did my foot feel heavy and tingly, my calf and behind my knee felt sensitive....almost like a dull ache.
any ideas?1 -

I'm voting with others; I think you have a pinched nerve. Stop until you figure this out.0

While everyone recommends a doctor I'm more likely to say head to a physio. I'm in Canada and we don't need a referral and I have found that physio's are much quicker to assess the problems I've had in the past as our GPs tend to rely only on xrays which can take a while and yield little information if it's a muscle imbalance or other such problems.0

I'm voting with the too-many-miles-on-the-shoe crowd. I've gone through a lot of shoes in my day. If you've been using those shoes for running for three to six months, it's time.0

Ditto to physio - something could have you running just enough funny you are pinching the right nerve.
Perhaps you've always been on the verge but just never went over whatever line to cause problems.
I'll get just numbing feet if laces are too tight and it's blood flow problem.
I'll get numb feet and some other leg spots if it's nerve coming down.
Used to get me predominately one foot biking, other foot running.
Kept going long enough the other would join in.

Stop trying to keep running. Figure this out first. It could be anything from unsupportive shoes to spinal problems.1
