As several have pointed out nasty responses should be flagged so I am deleting my comments.

You'd probably get better results just flagging the posts that you think violate forum guidelines. Threads like this, calling out everybody and nobody, often just create drama.11

You are quite right. Forgot about that option. I am flagging now.5

It's been my experience that every helpful poster on these forums, every single one, will be called rude, mean, negative, troll, bully, know-it-all, etc. at some point or another no matter how carefully they phrase their advice. Posts like this tend not to be very helpful. When every helpful poster is called out as mean at some point or another, then making a post like this without examples or qualifications just ends up pointing fingers at everyone.
There is some actual rudeness that goes above and beyond what should be acceptable here. Report it (use the actual report function not the flags) or call it out where you see it. But posts like this just add to the negative atmosphere that you're trying to combat instead of solving anything.
Be the change you want to see instead of perpetuating the cycle.13 -
If you find posts that violate community guidelines, you should report them.
Otherwise, it's helpful to remember that sometimes different people have different styles of communicating. The best tip I ever read about the internet was imagining every post in Kermit the Frog's voice. It helps a lot. You can't really judge someone's intent just through words. A lot of nuance is lost through internet communication.10 -

Bingo!
New posters are going to latch onto one communication style, which makes it good that multiple vets respond in different ways and from a variety of thoughts and experiences. Nothing wrong with tough love - it's still love.5 -

In case you didn't know, if you want a moderator to address a post, use Flag > Report. Flag > Abuse is for "Pornography, graphic or disturbing images, hate speech, etc."
