Sometimes you just need to eat ALL the things...

This is more of a rant than anything so if you don't like those click away now! I am a social worker and part of that is going into clients homes, as you can imagine I see some pretty interesting stuff but nothing compared to yesterday. I was looking at an apartment with a client who wanted to move, I drove her in my car as she did not have a ride and when we were driving away from the house we realized we were both covered in fleas, like so many fleas, it was disgusting. So I called my supervisor who told me to go home for the day because who wants a flea infestation in their office? So I stripped naked in my hallway threw my clothes immediately in the wash and took a shower, washing myself about 4 times. I then bug bombed my car which did not do much, took another shower, and cleaned my entire apartment as thoroughly as possible, then took another shower. My car still had fleas in it this morning so I had to have my fiancée drive me into work and my mother (God bless her) came to my apartment to wait for the exterminator to come and professionally exterminate my car (Goodbye $150). As you can imagine over the course of yesterday and today I have eaten ALL the things including (but not limited to) potato chips, pizza, chocolate chip cookies, and ice cream and none of it in moderation.. The best part is I don't even care right now. I know I should but I know these 2 days won't kill me and I cannot focus on eating healthy when I have 57 (yes I actually counted) bug bites all over my body causing relentless itching and discomfort today. I hope your week is going better then mine! Happy Wednesday!

You deserve it. It that's wrong, so be it. But sometimes junk food therapy really helps. Don't forget this is temporary as are the flea itches. Given this was work related, can you present the receipts for the exterminator, etc. to your boss? You may not get the money but at least you will have made a point!

I understand COMPLETELY what you are going through. I ended up with bed bugs when the apartment next to me was rented and it took almost 4 months to get rid of them. Then I got them 2 more times before we could move out and into a house of our own. When we moved, We got rid of EVERY upholstered thing. I washed every piece of clothes, dishes, and anything else I could with HOT water and bleach then packed it in plastic bags and then into bins. We bought NEW bedding and clothes to wear since we were staying with friends for a month. I bug bombed the truck before we left, again when we got here, and AGAIN in the storage we rented. I haven't had any further problems since. While this was happening, We ate out a lot (nothing like getting ready to cook and finding BUGS in your dishes). I didn't care how much I weighed at the time. It will get better though and now you know what to look for, so it doesn't happen again.
