Need a New Exercise

Currently I do the elliptical 1x-2x a week and Zumba 1x-2x a week. I have an issue with my right hip fro a surgery I had years ago and yesterday when the doctor asked what I do and I said Zumba he said immediately "Elliptical is fine, but Zumba is too much weight and stress on the hip. I would recommend stopping the Zumba. That might be why it has gotten worse the last few years."
I am looking for a new exercise to replace the Zumba that can burn 300-600 calories. I don't lift weights often as years I go I was told by another doctor not to as I have some disc issues in my neck from playing hockey for 14 years.
I know swimming would be good, but there's no place around me that's affordable and close to me that has open swimming or classes.
I am 5'9 and 182 pounds. I haven't been getting much exercise lately as I wanted more time to spend with my kids (I end up chasing them around so I guess that is exercise) so I have been paying closer attention to my calories and have lost 2 pounds and half an inch on my waist.

Why not ask the doctor that said no to Zumba what would be safe effective exercises for you?1

Google for zero-impact exercises.0

Bicycle, walking, planks or yoga. I have never tried yoga but thinking about it to get better flexibility0

I researched low impact exercises (as mentioned above) and I may try step aerobics. I found this:
I may try doing home step aerobics
185-Pound Person
If you weigh 185 pounds, you can burn about 622 calories doing step aerobics at a low intensity, or burn about 888 calories participating in high-intensity step aerobics for one hour. A 185-pound, moderately active person needs 2,775 calories, while an active 185-pound person requires about 3,330 calories each day to maintain his current weight. A 185-pound person who regularly participates in step aerobics and wants to lose weight can decrease his current energy intake by 500 to 1,000 calories each day to lose about 1 to 2 pounds per week.
I never knew it was 2775 calories a day to maintain for (around) my weight. I've been doing better than I thought as MFP is set for 1960 a day.
