Brilliant!!! I love it crazy much!
I bet you can't do a South African accent though. No one gets it right
I have not found one solid video to help me so you're out of luck
No worries. If you watch the movie Chappie you will get some good reference points. But there isn't just one South African accent, so I couldn't even do some of them
Like I tried watching tutorials but it's not enough to learn
I'm impressed with your commitment. You're off the hook though.0 -

DeadliftsAndSprinkles wrote: »@UrBaconMeCr8zy I am pretty sure you should try and do a Kiwi accent. Basically, just sound like Korg from Thor: Ragnarok. Oh, or Jemaine and Bret.
The American comparative to the NZ accent@Taika Cohen Waititi would be the George Lopez American accent. It's the native dialect influenced spoken English. In Waititi's case it's Maori. Granted, some Samoans, Cook Islanders, Tongans and Tokelauans of NZ sound very similar.
Waititi's accent would be a Mid to South of North Island, NZ "Islander" Kiwi accent. Further South, it is more nasally sounding, only with the very same accent, with an emphasis on the "Oys."
Thor Ragnarok cast many Kiwis.

I spent like 4 hrs on YouTube with no solid dialect to listen to
Wow. That's a lot. It is past 10pm here so I can't give you an audio lesson. But maybe I can record some common phrases or words for you tomorrow.1 -

Do it slowly and enunciate...if you do
I will try my best. But the point of a SA accent is the lack of enunciation. If we try we sound more British.1 -

I'm sorry about this. I get very nervous talking into the recorder - it's almost as bad as talking on the phone. I much prefer singing. Anyway, it's here if anyone wants to learn a bit more about South African slang.

Otherwise, if you don't want to listen to all of that rubbish, you can watch Trevor Noah. Not only is he my favourite comedian, but he also does some brilliant South African accents. Because we are many and diverse and have lots of accents

Well, we were colonised by the British and the Dutch. Many of the words we have are Afrikaans, which is a derivative of Dutch.
My ancestors on my paternal grandmother's side were from England and Scotland. My paternal grandfather's ancestors are German. My maternal grandfather's ancestors are Dutch and I'm pretty sure my mom said we've got a bit of Malaysian blood. If I were told to go back to where I came from, I wouldn't know exactly where to go.
I think you have an accent. I love your accent!2 -

That's difficult! There was only like 2 words I could distinctly hear the accent
I don't think I have a very distinct accent. People whose home language is Afrikaans have more distinctive accents. This guy is pretty good though
