Have you ever delayed your weight loss goal because of obstacles & still able to achieve it.

I think most of us have. Some to a greater degree than others. I've had injuries and illnesses that caused me to put weight loss on the back burner. I had a period of time where I was at the mercy of others to feed me. We say that weight loss isn't linear and this is part of that. Sometimes you have to work harder and sometimes it simply gets put on hold.

I think that’s how life usually works. Sometimes priorities are adjusted because of circumstances. Things ebb and flow. I think everyone has had a time (or 70) when something has taken a higher priority than weight loss goals. I know I have. But as things ebb and flow and those who make weight loss goals a priority when they can be, or work within their circumstances to the best of their ability, are the ones who see success.

How do you keep going since it’s taking more longer than expected because of unexpected obstacles.

You look at what the alternative is.

You can keep working towards it or you can give up. The time is going to pass anyway. You can give up and in 5 years your weight will be the same (if you are lucky) or higher (which is most likely). You can keep working towards it and in 5 years your weight will be lower, maybe even at your goal.

Seriously though, today and tomorrow are going to happen whether you are working towards health or not. Might as well put some effort in.

There is no end point. You’re doing this for the rest of your life. It’s a good thing that it’s taking longer than expected.

But know that obstacles will turn around, circumstances will change, eventually things will be more in your favor. In the interim, hang in there, ride the wave and take care of what matters most (which may or may not be your weight loss goals).

Your biggest obstacle is often yourself.
