Is extra skin inevitable during weight loss?

My goal is to lose at least 30 pounds hopefully before summer. (I'm not sure if that's exactly what I can get to safely, just a rough estimate) I have stretch marks, cellulite, etc etc it doesn't matter to me. But I'm just curious if losing this much weight will cause loose/extra skin? I'm young, eighteen years old. Does age play a part in this as well? Sorry if my question is stupid I just have no idea.

I think it just depends on a lot of things like your start weight and how fast you lose it. I know eating healthier and drinking water helps your skins elasticity.

In your case, you'll probably end up with little to no loose skin. But it could take up to 2-3 years for it to snap back.

Thumbs-up for spelling lose, loose, and loss correctly. :+1:

I didn't have any stretch marks or loose skin after having a big baby & gaining and losing 45 lbs for that. It's mostly genetic though.

Has a lot to do with genetics and certainly age. With your age the amount you are set to lose it's very likely it will not be an issue. If you do end up with some, keep in mind it may take a while for it to improve. Give it a couple of years of maintaining your goal weight.
