Hi!
Does anyone know how to log a homemade Greek yogurt recipe? Since the milk is cultured and the whey is strained off, the macros are different than the original ingredients. I used a gallon of whole milk, a 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk, and two tablespoons of chobani plain greek yogurt as the starter. Any ideas on how I can enter this info into mfp?
Thank you!!!

I googled for "calories in whey" and got 66 calories per 1 cup 246 g.1

Thanks. So maybe measure the milk and whey and subtract milk from whey?0

When I was making my own I worked out the calories and macros for the ingredients, then subtracted the calories and macros (mostly carbs) for the amount of whey I strained off. Rather than creating a recipe (not sure how doing the whey there would work, but possibly you could put it as negative calories?) I just created a food for it under 'my foods' with the total weight of the batch, which I could then enter into my diary according to the number of grams I had.1

Ok, that makes sense to create a food instead of logging as a recipe. Thank you very much!0

I make greek yogurt using powdered milk. Instead of using the amount of powder needed to make 1/2 gallon of milk, I use 3x that much powder in 1/2 gallon of water. It makes a plenty thick yogurt, and I don't need to strain off any whey. I could strain off whey, and the yogurt would be even thicker, but the viscosity I achieve without straining is to my liking.0
