Success! But still need some advice....

Today. This minute. I have lost 57 lbs. I weigh less than my drivers liscense says. I weigh less than I did when I got married (the first time)! And I feel better than I have in forever. Yesterday I bought my very first bikini. I am going to Mexico in October and I wanted to wear one so bad, I went ahead and made the commitment. I am not going to look like the hottest chick on the beach, but what I am really going for is to not freak anyone out and I think I have already managed that level of success. The area I need help with is to trim it up a bit. My skin has gotten loose. When I was heavier my skin was in pretty good condition, but now it is kind of lumpy. I know that I should cut out the refined carbs and probably lift but I don't know where to start. I am not really looking to have bulging biceps but would like to pull the skin down over the muscles that I have. Is that possible without plastic surgery? What can I expect to achieve between now and October?

Also I get that you can't shift fat in to muscle but when do you make the shift from weight loss to muscle gain? I get that you eat a deficit to loose fat and surplus to gain muscle but I am very confused over what to do when....

Thanks for your encoragement and help!!!!!!

Congratulations on your weight loss!!!! Awesome!!! I am starting a 30 day plank challenge to tone and tighten. It could work for you too if you're interested....

Hopefully this link works ... if not I just did a bing search for "30 day plank challenge" I had seen it on pinterest and I thought it sounded doable after all the longest time is 5 minutes ... and it starts at 20 seconds... totally sounds like something anyone can do as long as you can hold a plank

    Good luck!!!

You can lift at a deficit to lose the last bit of fat if you have it. You won't gain much muscle 9you may see a bit of a gain at first), but it will preserve muscle. You can lift at maintenance and see a bit of a difference, although it's slow. But, for true mass gain, you're right, you need to eat at a surplus, which will lead to some fat gain as well. It doesn't seem you'd want that, so I'd recommend getting a basic starting program like New Rules of Lifting (for Women) or a plain old compound lifting program. Lots of people like Jamie Eason's Live Fit trainer as well. You could look at blogilates or Fitness Blender for some light weight stuff, just make sure you're using the heaviest weight you can. Eat at a moderate deficit, and go from there.
