I just purchased my first instant pot and I am looking for recipes! I have been on google and it seems like possibilities are endless but I'm interested if anyone has a favourite they could not live without (and instructions of course). Also any tips or tricks for a newbie would be appreciated lol.

I love mine. I use it a lot. I like to cook a whole chicken(fresh) then pull the chicken of the bone and throw the bones back in with onion, carrots, celery, bay leaf and peppercorns. Cover with water and cook high pressure for 120 minutes. Then strain and separate fat for chicken stock. Then I can make soup or chicken salad and freeze the broth for later.

I like the instant pot for soup and stews too. I have been using it to batch cook quinoa and brown rice too. I know you are going to enjoy having one.

Facebook has an Instant Pot Community that is amazing! It is moderated by the manufacturer. I have learned a lot there.

There is also a Pressure Cooker Group here on MFP. It is still small and not a lot of participation yet. But several recipes there. community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/115500-pressure-cooker-recipes-and-tips

I like Pressure Luck too. he is very entertaining and post some healthy and some decadent recipes. He has all the social media. He started as a YouTube channel. I enjoyed his Chicken Marsala, Chicken Picatta and Hibachi rice.

Once a Month Meals is another good resource. They are a meal plan service but some of their recipes are free. They make freezer meals you can just put in the instant pot for a quick meal. Worth visiting their website.

    Have fun!

I have a pressure cooker (not insta pot), I believe mine is emeril lagasse brand. My mother gave it to me a few years ago for Christmas.... I have yet to use it! It's finally out of the box though! LOL I love my crockpot, I guess I need to get past that and use mine. I just don't know where to start! LOL

The first thing I made was Beef Tips and Mushrooms. I was sold the beef was so tender so quickly. It was AMAZING! We seared the beef, then added onions, mushrooms, beef broth and cooked on the stew setting for 20 minutes(Instant Pot). Then waited for natural pressure to release and added flour, additional broth and parsley. Turned on saute to thicken. It was so good! The only thing I would do different is to reduce the beef broth by 1/2 cup or even 1 cup. There was a lot of liquid to thicken.

Used this recipe as a go by soupspiceeverythingnice.blogspot.com/2013/11/beef-tips-with-mushrooms.html
