It's great to learn to have your favourite treats in moderation if you can.

The alternative is total abstinence, and that often only lasts until the next binge.

This study by the University of Cambridge and published in the British Medical Journal looked at the levels of alcohol consumption in nearly 2 million people. It found that moderate alcohol consumption (about 14 units a week) lowered the risk of many, but not all, cardiovascular diseases.

Are you serious? You mean I can quit my diet, just buy the good looking men a couple of drinks and get the same results?

In small amounts alcohol can help you relax after a long day of work and exercise (I often have a shandy after work, which is beer mixed with a lemon lime soda, to help unwind at the end of the day). Just remember not to overdo it and that it has calories, so work it into your calorie counting.
