loosing 4.2lbs in a day?!

so lately I've be doing low to no carbs. I've noticed that I've lost weight quite fast, (lost 3lbs in a week) but between yesterday and today I weight 4.2lbs less. I don't think that's healthy and it's worrying me quite a bit. I haven't run in a 2 weeks because of a knee injury (Starting back up today) but Is this okay or should I be worried?

Firstly, try only weighing yourself once a week. In my opinion, weighing every day gets you a little too obsessed with the numbers and you start getting your self-confidence or self-doubt from those numbers.

That said, I don't know how long you have been trying to reduce, but numbers can fluctuate from week to week. I have lost as much as 6 pounds and as little as 2 pounds (of course, I'm around 289) and I exercise pretty hard and keep calories to less than 1800 most of the time. Sometimes diet can change the weight loss, such as you've been doing.

Weigh yourself in a week from the first time and see what the difference is. 4.2 pounds is a lot, but it does happen. I would say 14 pounds would be weird and you should see a doctor, but less than 5 pounds --- and we don't know if that will stick -- isn't as much cause for worry.

Unless you come off a low/no carb diet the right way - you will gain it all back once you introduce carbs back into your diet!! You can not sustain life w/out any carbs!!

You probably lost considerable water weight. But that type of weight loss that quickly is not healthy over a long period of time.

And once you start to run again or try any type of cardio - I'd bet money you'll fall flat 1/4 through the workout b/c you wont have the energy!

The only way to lose 4.2 lbs in a day is to have a calorie deficit of 14,700 calories. So, most likely you have lost water weight, keep hydrated! Or a combination of water loss and a good BM.
