I recently lost 13lbs and need to gain as much back as possibles quick! Last month I lost about 10% of my body weight, 112 down to 99 , not due to health reasons. I'd gain it back naturally but I have an event in 2 weeks that I need to gain, fingers crossed, about 10 lbs for!?! How can I do this without giving myself a heart attack eating junk food? Or is it even possible at all? Because according to this app my goal can't be set past 1lb gain per week. I eat pretty healthy and do a fair amount of yoga, and started a plant based protein powder. Not going for the bulky look so staying away from weights. I never counted calories and not sure where to start except by generally eating more carbs and protein.
To break it down:
1- Is it unrealistic to gain 10lbs in 2 weeks?
2- How much weight is realistic and how can I do it?
3- Should I stop yoga for the time being?
4- Should I use weights and how to avoid the bulky look?
5- Plant based protein vs whey protein
Any advice is appreciated!
Thank you so much in advance:)

First off.. quick weight gain is usually not a good idea health wise.. since it will be majority fat and the amount of food you will have to eat can be overwhelming and not sustainable. I would aim for 1lb per week at most.
Aim to be healthy long term, not just for this event (which by the way 2 weeks is not a lot of time). Buy a flattering dress, get your hair and makeup done and gain what you can in that time without putting pressure on yourself.
Second.. you will not get bulky lifting weights while gaining overnight. It takes many years and many bulk cycles. As a woman, you will gain both fat and muscle, and believe me you will not turn into a bodybuilder by accident. If done correctly, you will end up with an amazing shape and body composition (provided you are gaining not too fast and following a progressive lifting program).
So unless you want all the weight gained to be fat and look more soft/round (depending on where you gain fat first), then ya don't lift.. but I wouldn't recommend it.
Yoga is fine.. it is a great for flexibility, mobility and relaxation and a great compliment to lifting.
I would start by eating what the app tells you for 1lb gain per week and go from there.

Makes a lot of sense. Been reading other posts on weight gain and you're soo right. It's not possible to gain that amount in little time. I'm disappointed but wanna do this right. I certainly don't want the soft/round shape lol. It's good to know that I won't bulk up with weights as I keep reading it's one of the best ways to gain healthy weight. I'll add weights to my routine, keep on with yoga and increase my calorie intake.
I guess I'll have to buy a new dress lol
Thank you Sardelsa!!1 -
1- Is it unrealistic to gain 10lbs in 2 weeks?
yes
2- How much weight is realistic and how can I do it?
1lb per week. Eat at surplus of 500kcal daily above maintenance calories
3- Should I stop yoga for the time being?
only if it burns enough calories and you can't hit your surplus
4- Should I use weights and how to avoid the bulky look?
you will not get bulky with weights. That requires years of training. You will definitely look better with weight training. Go with a good lifting program. Ask @sardelsa
5- Plant based protein vs whey protein
Any advice is appreciated!
whey anyday, because it has more protein to calorie ratio and is tastier.

Believe me.. I know it's hard when you are desperate and frustrated and you want to get to your goal yesterday (I think we all know that feeling...) but if you do this the right way, you will be blown away with the results. Lifting weights is not only amazing for your physique, but your health. I always think, I am not only doing this for now, but for life... as I age I want to have muscle, be in great shape and be able to use my body as best I can and not struggle. I want to be fit, strong and look great too3 -
Two solutions:
Drink 10 lbs of water and don't go pee.
or
Take your dress go to a tailor and have it taken in.

Sardelsa yesterday sounds good! Well you look amazing!! and I'd only hope I'd look that good after training. I have a strength machine and some weights in my garage that I need to dust off and start using. Thanks again:)1

Here is a list of good lifting programs.
And a correction from approve... you will not look bulky even at years of training, even through multiple bulk cycles unless you are using steroids.2 -

Thanks I'll check it out. And yes I realize now that bulk is not easily achievable, for me that good news:)
