Has anyone done the Avon Breast Cancer Walk?

Last week I registered for the Boston walk in May of next year. Does anyone have any training tips or fundraising tips? I started the 16 week training program provided on the walk website but am interested to hear from anyone with real life experience. I consider myself a beginner walker. I look forward to any advice I can get.
