Anyone dealing with chronic depression?

I've had chronic depression my entire life. Now my husband is depressed as well. I need to be strong so that I don't drag us both down.
I know exercise is the best thing. That and sunlight and water. But how do you motivate yourself?

I also suffer from chronic depression and anxiety. Interesting enough, it started when I quit smoking almost 20 years ago. Do you currently take medication for depression? There are some wonderful antidepressant meds available, although you may have to try a few before you find the right one for you. There's no reason to suffer when you can be helped by medication.
Exercise, sunlight, proper nutrition and sleep are all well and good, but if you have a chemical inbalance in your brain, they will only be temporary fixes.
PM me if you want to talk about it more.

I was diagnosed at 18 yrs old with chronic depression. Medication, exercise, sun, and water are great ways to help regulate it. Both you and your husband should seek help. Also, what you eat may help as well. Don't cut your carbs back too drastically, it can actually make the depression worse.0
