So I recently read an article about coconut sugar and am interested if anyone else has tried it??? Is it a healthier alternative to white sugar? Would love to hear you opinions on it!

I've had it before and it tastes VERY coconut-like, obviously. It's hard to substitute into baked goods or anything else calling for regular sugar, especially if you're making chocolate chip cookies for example. Unless you're trying to make, say, coconut cookies, coconut meringues, or anything with a coconut flavor, the sugar has an off taste in other recipes. If you're just going to add it to your tea, perhaps it wouldn't taste as funky. I'm primarily watching my calorie intake, so I don't use coconut sugar for the same reason I don't use regular sugar- it's 15 calories per teaspoon which adds up for me. I can't vouch on the actual health factor of coconut sugar. I'd say it's more in the raw than normal white sugar, but I don't know much else about it.0
