Need advice

I have been working out about 4-5 times a week for a little over a month. The scale has not budged and I feel like I'm getting bigger. This week I decided to take a break and I see the scale going down. What is this all about? Why and I getting bigger and why once I stop working out am I losing weight?

Are you eating in a calorie deficit? If so, it's most likely water retention as your muscles retain and repair. It'll balance itself out.

    water weight.

weight loss comes from your calorie deficit.

are you weighing and measuring everything you eat?

I am tracking my food. I usually stay at my goal or slightly under.

    How are you tracking? Weighing/measuring/eyeballing/guesstimates?

    A little bit of everything.

That's why you aren't losing weight. Tighten up your logging and you'll be in a more consistent deficit.

Depending on workout intensity, it could be mostly water weight. For example, when I started lifting, I gained a couple pounds that stayed with me for several weeks (4-6, I don't remember exactly how many now, it's been a long time). The body hangs on the extra water for repair. This is a natural and needed process. After several weeks my weight started dropping again.

I also agree with the others about tightening up your logging.

You're eating more than you think
