HELP getting started and motivated

Hello! I'm 30 years old weighing right at 200lbs and 5'6. I want and need to lose weight and get in shape. I just can't seem to get started and stick with it. How do you mentally get yourself to actually get started and stick to it.

Make a realistic plan that you want to follow, commit to it, and stick to it.

Baby steps. Commit to one small change. Once that change is a set habit, make another small change. Rinse and repeat.

The stick with it part - don't expect perfection. As long as the number of good days out number the bad days, you are making progress.

Get rid of any "I screwed up, so now I have to start over" attitude. You don't need a do over, you just need to continue.

Its really helpful to really dig into WHY this is important for you! Im A-type so it helped me to write out all the reasons I wanted to lose weight. I wrote down how I felt when I was heavier and how I expected I would feel once I hit my final goal. Holding onto your personal reasons makes it so much easier to stick with better choices. Mini goals are also super handy. Instead of focusing on your final goal, look at baby steps 10lbs or so away (or fitting into jeans that are just 1 size smaller) its less overwhelming :) after you know where you want to be, pick a plan. ANY plan (ex: whole 30, keto, or just hiting MFP recommended cals) and stick with it for 30 days
