workouts for a flat stomach

i had a baby 4 months ago. been doing fitness blender workouts and lost all my pregnancy weight. all thats left is my stomach! how do i lose my stomach fat? i do cardio, strength training, and some kick boxing. does it just take a while?

Congrats on your baby! If this is your first baby then please note that IT. WILL. TAKE. TIME. Give it a year or two to not be squishy and to be flat. If this isn't your first baby then you ALREADY know it takes time so give yourself a break.2

Exercise doesn't spot target fat loss. You will lose fat all around when you are in a calorie deficit...but no specific exercise targets fat lot loss/spot reduces fat.

Have you checked for Diastasis recti?? Google it, and see. I know several women (including myself) who lost all their baby weight, but still had stomach "fat", which was really just our damaged abs. A few months of corrective exercises and it shrunk back considerably. Most common core workouts will actually make it worse, giving you there permanent pregnant look.0

I had a baby 9 months ago and I started dieting and exercising about 3 months ago I weigh like 11 pounds less than my prepregnancy weight and my stomach has yet to be flat like it use too.0

I am always curious why some posters immediately jump on the perspective of "fat" instead of inquiring about a persons specific circumstance...jumping to conclusions that what is generally true must be the case for all. How many men have ever birthed a child and dealt with the body and hormone changes?
Good for you katnadreau for highlighting that real medical issues can contribute to these problems and recognizing post baby concerns. Immediately jumping to conclusions about someone having fat is not that "expert" opinion that should always be thrown out there.
Come on posters...if you cant take the time to notice or inquire about someone uniqueness (all people are the same, right?), then don't respond. I liken this to a visit to my doctor or dentist or having car trouble. Would you want any of them to just treat you for the common issues that walk through their door every day or actually spend the time to find out what is going on with you...or your car? Would that really be OK?
Also, if your going to offer your knowledgeable opinion...use sensitivity. This is MFP...FITNESS is Body, mind and sole. Women who have had babies have hormones flying in all directions...which can take months to level out. Emotions are part of that mind balancing thing in fitness. If you cant help feed them information in a positive sensitive way, go to a blog on facebook where insensitive stupidity is the order of the day and completely socially acceptable.

Not sure who your comment is directed towards, but the OP asked specifically what exercises to do to reduce stomach fat. I addressed that question...all thats left is my stomach! how do i lose my stomach fat?
So I don't know why you would say "Immediately jumping to conclusions about someone having fat"...I didn't jump to any conclusions...she asked specifically about it. Also not sure where I was "insensitive"...if you're referring to @jjpptt2 I can assure you who wasn't being insensitive to the OP...he's speaking of his own experiences with how long this *kitten* takes...I've been rolling for 5 years and I'm still not where I would like to be.
So again...not sure where I wasn't being positive or "insensitive stupid"...I was being informative. It is absolute truth that you can't spot reduce fat with any particular exercise...which is what the question was.
Perhaps you should read comments without some underlying tone...IDK...seem like you think we were mansplaining or something...which we weren't. Just stating a fact as to the question asked...it has nothing to do with being male or female. There are a lot of successful ladies on this site as well who would tell the OP the exact same thing...6 -

Congrats on the babies @GettingFitSlim, @Anamargonz, & @rickiimarieee.
You are all within the year of giving birth. Your body is still recovering to a certain extent- especially the muscles in the abdomen.
If you are at your goal weight but still have fat to lose in the abdomen think of doing a recomp. Consistently doing a full body routine x 3 a week will strengthen the abs (and the rest of your muscles) and help burn off some of the fat.
A compound, progressive programme using bodyweight, machines, dumbbells, or barbell will work, it does take consistency over time though.
Have a look at the recomp thread in the maintenance forum and if you are new to weight training check out the which lifting programme is best for you in the body building forum.

@rickiimarieee I know you are having a hard time losing the last 10. Give yourself a small deficit (or eat at maintenance without eating back the weight training cals) and work as though you are doing a recomp.1 -
