I just got back from an ortho surgeon. Both knees are crap: Level 4 osteoarthritis, bone on bone; it feels like walking on spear tips and I cannot stand more than five minutes.
. My Hips are not much better. I must lose 70# before doctors will consider joint replacement. But increasing pain and immobility are great motivators. I really don't want to spend my golden years in a wheelchair! I got a couple cortisone shots yesterday and signed up at a local gym w/the aim of water aerobics 5x/ week. Will also explore rowing machines or any other machines that improve cardio w/out stressing my joints. So my overall goals: weight loss, pain control, improved cardio and maintained leg strength. Interested in reading suggestions or experiences of others dealing with similar issues and limitations.
