So today was a hectic 12 hour day at work for me and I went over my calorie daily allotment. The stress gets me eating. Mfp says I have gone over by 348 cal and my garmin monitor app says I only went over by 29 calories. Neither overage is that big of a deal in the long term but I'd like help understanding the difference in numbers. I'd rather believe the garmin obviously. Thanks in advance for the insight!

It's a question of how much you burned through exercise. What did you do and for how long?

Go by MFP for your calorie intake, use your Garmin purely for the calorie output.

The adjustment that goes over to MFP accounts for them having 2 different algorithms.

The reality is it's probably somewhere in the middle of the two, your weight loss trend over time will tell you how accurate adjustment is. If you find over a period of 4-6 weeks you're losing more/less adjust your calorie goal manually.
