Down 20 lbs and wanting to keep the streak.

Hey MFP peeps. As of today I am officially down 20 lbs from my original weight! However, as I am a college student living on campus there are temptations everywhere I go. Even though i only buy healthy snacks to keep in my room, it's always in the back of my mind that if I wanted to...I could go right downstairs and buy cookies, ice cream, etc. I am also very busy so I have little time to exercise outside of walking to and from classes (which is actually quite a bit- 300-400 calories burned everyday, but still not what I wish I could do) so I am looking for any tips, motivational tricks that you all have to keep the streak going. Also, feel free to add me as a friend so that we can motivate one another!

There's no reason you can't have the cookies and ice cream occasionally, you just have to fit them into your calorie allowance. Often, just knowing that you can, and sometimes doing that, makes them less tempting. Forbidden fruit (or cookie!) and all that...3

Temptations are okay if you can fit them into your daily calories.. although once you log them, and realize how little portion you get, and how many calories get sacraficed.. it makes you wonder if it was even worth it. Kind of makes the 'bad treat' less appealing lol. Which is actually awesome in its own way.
Anyways, congrats on the streak tho! Very impressive1 -
Everyone should indulge sometimes. You can fit a cookie into your calories usually.
It is a fact of life that temptations will appear sometimes and you have to make the choice about it it's worth it or not. College is a way to prep for many things in life. Once you go into the work force I promise you there will be people bringing donuts and sweets and other "unhealthy" things to work. It's all about the choices you make.0 -
Nobody should aim to keep up the streak.
As you lose weight, your daily energy requirements get less, as you have less mass to move around.
Not sure how much you have to lose, but 0.5% - 1% of body weight per week is the rule. At the lower end if you have less to lose.
In general, for anyone interested:
If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal1 -
Sometimes keeping healthier snacks (popcorn or dark chocolate) on hand will keep you from getting that cookie. Which isn't bad if you want it but just like someone else mention before me will the calories be worth it?0
