When the someone from the local congregation invite numerous people to their home for an occasion, it is commonly done that they leave the door unlocked and allow/expect/hope that new arrivals will let themselves in without the constant summoning of the doorbell.

I have not issued such an invitation. If someone were to find my door unlocked and let themselves into my house, I would exercise my right to defend my home with my constantly carried firearm. Dead men don't claim to have been invited.

I would say mine use to be more like the " love boat "

you mean one of your neighbors had a crocked eye?

Or one of your neighbors was standing around the neighborhood no matter where you were and able to make you drinks?

Why do you wish such terrible things on me?

I don't have IRL friends. Shocking I know...

You know I only want what is best for you.

No. I keep my doors locked and there is an alarm. I guess that doesn't happen in sitcoms.

Might explain the number of murders you see in sitcoms

I get paranoid and worry people (not necessarily friends) will just come in sometimes.

I house sat twice and friends of the home owner just walked onto the house...super awkward because both times it was early afternoon and I was in bed, I often stay up all night. So I had to get up, all bed head and go tell some random stranger that I'm the house sitter and you basically just barged in on me.

One guy knew the lady was away and came into her house to get a clock he wanted to fix for her. The other time it was a realtor friend of the family who planned his own open house without the homeowners ok.
