Hello :)
I'm excited to be here! I thought I'd share my story and see if anyone relates. Here goes. I was an avid runner and kept in good shape, but then I was in a car accident and a few things happened. I couldn't run (+10lbs), one of the medications they gave me was a steroid (+10lbs) and I got depressed and laid around in self pity and snacks... +at least 10lbs! I tried a few diets, but my heart wasn't in it. I was still feeling sorry for myself and blaming outside forces. But recently something clicked - This is my life and my body and my responsibility. If I want to find something positive, I can admit that this experience has made me address my vanity. I am more compassionate now and understanding. I started 2 weeks ago, calorie counting and exercising and I'm down 11lbs! I'm sure it won't continue that fast, but I'm off to a good start. I signed up for a 5k in a few months and my goal is to be at goal for that race. I can do this and so can you!
