diet break

I have decided to take a diet break because despite increasing deficit continuously the weight was still sticking.
I'm third day in, scales are reading 1kg heavier (hoping is just the water weight), but today I have been head achy and a bit absent minded. With a bit of googling, could it be a hypoglycemic reaction to a sudden increase in calories? I had reduced my calories alot (sometimes over 2000 deficit on high training days) as my weight loss was stalling.
It has been a hard decision to take a diet break as I need to be a certain weight by a certain date for a fight, but when you stall anyway, why not try the diet break re-set option?
Has anyone else experienced light headedness and head aches going onto maintenance calories?

"third day in". Does that mean you've been eating little and training lots for 3 days and are considering already a diet break?0

No, it means the OP is 3 days in to her diet break.
OP - i have never noticed the feelings you experience from increasing calories...1 -
Nope, didn't have any of that. Did start an awesome eczema flare near the end, but that was/is stupid hormones (unless my body has decided to add something else to the list of things I can't eat).
The weight gain is almost certainly glycogen replenishment and additional food in your system, just ignore it1 -
What kinds of calories are you eating on your diet break? Are you drastically increasing sugar? Are you dehydrated?0

Interesting about eczema mine has flared up too, but it often does (Eggs, tomato, citrus are big causes).
I have possibly increased sugar a bit much, finding it hard to eat enough to break even especially today as I had 3 hrs training.
I had been averaging 1500cal deficit last month (I train a lot) trying to break the slow down so it has been quite a shock to the system to eat more.
Today a lot of the water weight dropped off, 600g to be exact.
The dizzy spells have reduced, so you reckon the sugar could be the culprit? Guess it is a shock to the system to go from very little to heaps.

Eczema sucks. Eggs, tomato and wheat for me (and seasons, and hormonal fluctuations, and merely existing...).
Glad the dizziness has subsided. It may be completely unrelated to the diet break, of course.
I had a few moments of 'damn, I need to eat how much more??' on high exercise days. A lesson in being better prepared! I tend not to have a lot of 'grab and go' type stuff in the cupboards, esp not higher cal. There were a couple of evenings I made double sized choc peanut butter protein shakes (a single one is 400 cals), just to use up calories.0 -

just in response to the eczema comments. my husband has been instructed by his dermatologist to do low carb, gluten free which seems to be helping, and we have discovered that tomatoes cause him to flair up so they are also a no.
eggs seem to be ok, but i may suggest citrus, see if that helps...0 -
I literally ate a second dinner tonight. Tomorrow is potentially worse, if sunny 2hrs bike, 1hr weights, 1 hr kicking and punching!
Then maybe some gardening on top.
They have written books about what you eat and the links to skin conditions. I tried growing low acid tomatoes last season, but they are so fleshy, not worth it.0 -

Citrus is a big one for me, if I drink orange juice next day it flares up, I never eat a whole orange anymore.0 -

The opposite for me - I feel more energised, my training and recovery picks up.
I don't low carb when I'm cutting so don't get any weight gain from glycogen replenishment, I also don't go for prolonged big deficits though.0 -

Yeah, cutting out the gluten was a huge one for me. I was really resistant to it, cos I didn't want to be one of *those* people, but, dear god do I feel better in so many ways
Eggs I think I can eat a little. Like I'm okay with egg in things, and I've trialled a couple of times with whole eggs, but I need to do more trials. Tomatoes I'm okay with cooked (thank god, cos otherwise there goes pizza!), and I had some fresh tomatoes about a week and a half ago and thought I was fine (last summer tomato was a pretty instant reaction), though the flare did start a few days after that. Again, need to do more trials (because if I can eat them again, I need to get some planted in the next few weeks), but not while I'm flaring. Wheat/gluten, nope, nope, nope. The funniest thing was, when I sussed out the egg and tomato, which had formed my standard workday lunch, I replaced them with toast, which I'd previously eaten pretty sporadically. The crooks of my elbows got to the point I was putting emollient on every hour before I put two and two together.0 -

I suspect your right about cooked tomatoes, I made green tomato relish from last season (still have heaps) I don't seem to react to that not do I react to throwing tomato into a stir fry. I think I'd rather not know if wheat/glutin effects it, I love bread.
When I was much younger it effected my elbows bad, but I think it was linked to wooden desks at school. These days it's the hands, I wear gloves a lot with gardening and it flares up if it's been several hours of gardening. But gloves are better than no gloves, so many plants are known for skin irritation particularly ivy.
I fully ignore the egg one to a degree, we have 50 chickens, as I sell the eggs at the market etc, we are always eating the small, odd, and older eggs.

I actually got to the point at the end of last (NZ) summer that I almost did full elimination, just eating rice (lasted half a day ). My 'I don't wanna know' is dairy. Wheaty things I can live without for the most part. Every now and then someone mentions something and I'll be 'dammit, I can't eat that anymore!!'. I kind of wish I'd gotten tested for gluten before cutting it out, but even when I was eating it, it wasn't a high enough amount per what's recommended to yield a positive test result. There is no way in hell I am subjecting myself to 4-8 weeks of 4 slices of bread or equivalent just to be able to say 'no, no, it is real'.
I'm pretty sure mine is connected to perimenopause (Google says that is a thing). I used to only get very occasional outbreaks as an adult, always connected to stress, and years apart. Hay fever has also gone through the roof. My hot spots (literally! You could fry an egg on me atm) are neck, upper chest, upper back (that's new), then inner elbows and backs of knees go, and feet and ankles if I'm exercising a lot and wearing my trail socks. Face itches and hurts, but doesn't really get a rash (except last summer around the edges of my eyes, looked like I was wearing red eyeliner!). Can't wear sunblock at all when it's really bad, even the most sensitive stuff I can get my hands on.0
