FIT BIT calories

Hi! Can anyone explain to me how mfp calculate extra calories for the amount of steps tracked by a fit bit a day. Doesn't really make sense to me. Look at my diary and you will see what i am talking about.

When you sync your Fitbit, MFP reads the total calories you have burned up to that point and estimates how much you will end up burning for the entire day if you remain that active.
Say you have a goal of 1600 calories to lose a pound a week. This means that MFP assumes you will burn 2100 calories just going about your day at that activity level. You sync your Fitbit, and based on what you've burned MFP says you will burn 2350 calories for the entire day. This means you will receive a 250 calorie adjustment. Move more between syncs and that adjustment increases. Move less and it decreases and possibly goes negative if you aren't going to meet 2100 calories burned (provided you have negative adjustments enabled and are not set to the 1200 calorie minimum).4 -
I found it highly variable and I suspect the accuracy from "incidental steps." The accuracy for actual walks and runs was pretty good. I also killed 3 fitbits before I gave up on them.1
