I feel like I'm on a forever diet!!

I've been on my weight loss journey since 2009. I was able to lose weight and meet my goal, however if I'm not conscious about my every meal, I'll pickup weight so easily.
Regardless of how long I've kept the weight off...or how much I weigh, I still always feel like the overweight person I was. I never have been able to truly shake that mentality. That in itself has been and continues to be my biggest challenge. I can change my eating habits or kick the exercise up a notch, but I'm still not able to truly change the way I seen myself. After being "big" for 30+ years...that is a hard habit to kick.

You gotta have a hobby right? Mine is Exercise and eating well. I enjoy keeping up with my diet/exercise. Changing and trying new things. Honestly to stay thinner I will probably have to do this the rest of my life, I'm just not someone who can lose weight then not worry about it. But that's ok I embrace and now I enjoy it. Habits can be good.2

Those thoughts are separate, but they also form a string:
You won't become overweight again if you don't start to consistently overeat again.
But it's really easy to gain weight, because large amounts of delicious calorie dense foods are everywhere, they are easy to eat, heavily marketed, socially accepted and virtually free.
You have to stay vigilant for the rest of your life if you want to stay normal weight.
But you don't have to think about food all the time, just when you're planning/shopping and cooking/eating.
You are the same person, but your habits, preferences and attitudes have changed. So you are not an overweight person anymore.3 -
I had to change my mindset. I do not diet. I made small, incremental, easy to stick with changes. Its now a habit. I still struggle with temptation every day though. You can do it!! Rise above it!!2

I understand completely and it's a struggle but I've found that meditation works really well. Tell yourself everyday that you're beautiful, you're sorry for the past, and believe it. Also a mini makeover helps.... a new hair cut, a free makeover at the makeup counter also surround yourself with your encouraging friends that give compliments and make you smile often.... You can add me if you like we can build our confidence together!5
