(Possibly) jumping back into things

Been about months since I've been on MyFitnessPal. For those who may not know me, I'm Danielle, username bruinsgirl3319. I had been using MFP quite often earlier in the year but between personal stuff coming up- in addition to constant syncing issues with Fitbit and MFP- that I stopped being serious about keeping up with my weight and ultimately de-synced Fitbit and MFP. Things have stabilized with my personal situation, and I recently got a new Alta HR after my Flex went down for good thanks to battery issues. Still, I am unsure of whether I should re-sync my MFP and Fitbit accounts.
My main concerns are running into the same syncing issues I experienced when I had the two accounts linked (primarily not seeing a calorie adjustment and my step data from Fitbit not syncing with MFP), and if I DO re-sync, whether MFP starts pulling data again starting from the day I re-sync or all the months I primarily logged data from Fitbit. I have been logging everything in Fitbit over the last few months ever since I de-synced my accounts, but I know I'm better off logging food in MFP. And now that the Alta HR tracks exercises such as the elliptical automatically, I'm unsure of whether to log my exercise in MFP like I used to or just let Fitbit track it.
Any help to get me caught up would be great. Thank you!

I am an office worker so I set mine to sedentary and let my fitbit track my steps0

Have you sent an email to MFP administrator and asked?
I have contacted them about a couple of issues and found the staff to be helpful and go out of their way to fix issues.0
