How to permanently delete foods from the database?

I understand how to take a good off for the diary, but I'd like to take some things off the master list. Things that I may have only eaten once in a different state. Is there any way to permanently delete these bothersome items?

You can't delete foods from the actual database...if you could then other people couldn't access those foods.

If you are speaking about when you go to add a food to your log and it's under one of the following tabs this is the result

Recent - can't delete from the "recent" list but it will eventually not show
Frequent - You can remove those from that "frequent" list but they will remain if you search the actual database
My foods - Can't delete as you made changes to the food in the actual database....but you can edit in the foods tab
Meals - Delete all you want
Recipes - Delete all you want

I mean my personal list. Every day I go to add a glass of milk the option to add a burrito I ate one time two months ago shows up on my personal list of documented foods.

I don't see a personal list of foods.

Recent, frequent, my foods, meals and recipes

    and see above

that means it will disappear eventually...you apparently don't eat a lot of different foods.

MFP a few months ago starting rolling out a "hide" capability to the Recent List for the Android app. It is not really a "Delete" - I think it acts a lot like the hide feature of the Frequent List. I am not sure, because I do not have the updated Android app. I would suspect MFP would roll it out to the iOS app eventually, if it has not already been done.

I would suspect a "hide" feature for the Recent List on the web version would be a lot tougher to code, so I doubt that would be deployed in the near future.
