Do plain baked potatoes (no toppings, just the potato) bother you as well, or is it just potato wedges and crisps? What about regular bread? Have you tried having a small amount of plain pasta or just the pizza crust to isolate whether it's the gluten or something else you eat with the pasta/pizza crust? Can you tolerate commercial soy sauce or beer? (Because those both contain gluten). If it were me, I would do a lot more testing before randomly cutting out gluten.

Baked potatoes are too heavy for my stomach and cause bloating. And bread causes gas and cramps.

Dr thought it was wheat not solely for the potato wedges but from my symptoms and asked completely avoid the listed products and dietitian wants to rule out gluten sensitivity so has asked me to go full gluten free for two weeks.

Pizza is a massive no no. Toppings or no toppings my stomach is super bloated and swells up and the cramps and gas is not worth it. Same goes for pasta.

Day 3 on gluten free diet I do feel better. I'm not bloated or flatulent as much. I've been having eggs and white rice and protein and fruits ( I don't really have gluten free food at home yet).

Not sure what to look for in these two weeks or how long gluten takes to leave the body but my stomach doesn't feel heavy and bloated as much. I don't do well with low carbs as this causes mood swings and hunger and irritability.

I have coeliac disease and I would urge you to push for testing if you think this may be the case for you. Coeliac isn't just about an inntolorance to gluten-it's an auto immune disease and has some very serious consequences if mis-diagnosed. As a previous poster said you need to still be having gluten for the test to be accurate. This includes barley and oats. I can't eat anything that doesn't say gluten free on the packet as even if I take in a small amount that has been cross contaminated then I get ill and more damage to my gut occurs.
Please get tested properly to rule this out, it's a very serious health condition. Good luck.

Cutting out gluten (mostly) has really helped my wife. Skin problems go away and digestion is much better

Guys after being gluten free for three days I ate out today and had a cookie. And my stomach hurts I'm bloated I have cramps around the side of my stomachs and the nausea is killing me. I was fine the last three days being gluten free so something isn't right.

Have you tried any of the gluten free breads or pastas yet? This really will help you pinpoint if it’s gluten or something else in the foods
