help - need to estimate japanese meal calories

Hello,
I'm sort of brand-new at this calorie counting stuff. I ate at a Japanese place today and I think I probably blew most of my calorie budget, but I'm having trouble finding a good calorie and carb/fat/protein estimate:
beef teriyaki
brocolli
steamed rice
tempura mix ~7 pieces, 1 shrimp
soup - a simple chicken broth with tofu
I have the Calorie King app, but still learning how to use it.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Without even knowing how many oz or grams of food your beef teriyaki was, it's impossible for us to help you at all.
Was it 1 cup of rice or 2?
If it was a chain restaurant, you can try their website and see if they have their nutrition info posted.0 -

Thank you. Unfortunately this particular restaurant doesn't make their nutrition information available. The quantity of steamed rice was ~1.5 cups. The quantity of beef was "typical" for a japanese lunch meal, maybe 12-15 thin tender strips of beef in dark teriyaki sauce, ~4-6 oz.? Only ~6 or 8 small broccoli tops on the side with the beef/sauce. Soup ~1 cup, maybe 1.25? I was hoping to find a similar meal from another japanese place and use it to help me estimate. Also they give you this sauce to dip the tempura in. I will spend more time this evening looking up each part of the meal as best I can. I've never had to estimate quantities so much. I'm sure I'll get better at it. It's probably not that terrible without the deep fried tempura. I meant to tell them to hold that, but I was too late. Next time.

You will definitely get better at this, we all have had hiccups.
1.5 cups of rice = 300 calories
Beef teriyaki = 600 to 700 calories
Soup = 50 caloires
Tempura = 400 to 500 calories
So anywhere from 1200-1550 calories.
I would recommend trying to eat out at a place that provides nutrition data in the future, it'll make this whole thing soooo much simpler.0
